I am delighted that yesterday Manchester Labour Council's Planning Committee rejected the application to build an all weather football pitch on the much loved Chorlton Meadows.

After Council Officer's had been sent away to find formal reasons for rejection, the applicant decided to withdraw the application.

The Labour Team in Chorlton and Chorlton Park has been working hard with local residents and the Save the Meadows Campaigners to ensure that the application was rejected. I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of all those who campaigned against the application.
