Transport Debate | |

A Yes Vote will mean £3 billion worth of investment including new tram lines, high speed bus links, new school buses, improved stations and shelters as well as improved rail links. This will be funded by a charge for drivers travelling into Manchester in the morning and evening rush hours. Only 20% of drivers will pay as most people do not travel at these times or do not travel a sufficient distance to be charged. On November 13th I will be speaking in favour of a Yes vote in a debate sponsored by the South Manchester Reporter at Parrs Wood High School at 7 PM. I think it is vital that local residents are given the opportunity to hear the arguments from both sides, as I firmly believe that the arguments for a Yes vote are far more compelling and convincing than those for a No vote. Please do come along. | |

The referendum on the Transport Innovation Fund proposals on the 11th December is quite possibly the most important decision in Manchester's history.
